Default Parkinsonian plus syndrome

Does anyone have any information they can share about parkinsonian plus syndrome. My father was just recently diagnosed and my family and I are still trying to wrap our heads around it. He has the hand tremors, dizziness, wors retrieval difficulty and some short term memory incidences (forgetting where a kitchen tool goes and where he parked his car after a meeting). Those have been the most recent symptoms he's experienced. The dr basically said he wouldn't sugar coat it and that it wasn't good and fast progressing. Any insights would be greatly appreciated. I'm trying to get as educated about this disease as possible but having a lot difficultly finding information out ther. TIA!!

Hello,
Have you found our sub forums & sticky threads?
They're in the upper sections of the main page of our Parkinson's forum -

What age is your father?

Here are a few links-

Thanks for the response. My father is 65. He just found out a week ago. He is getting a PET scan this week to hopefully get some more information. Trying to encourage him to get another opinion and be proactive in his treatment.

I'm still learning my way around the community but will definitely check out the links you gave. Really appreciate it!

Is your father on any medications for anything now?
Maybe a high Cholesterol med?
If so how long on it and which one?

I had some vision/dizzy/word/spelling /short term memory issues when I was taking lipitor. I know a few that had to change or quit those meds due to muscle aches from statins.

The only meds I know he is definitely on a time release concerta (for ADD) and the Drs just put him on donepzil for the memory issues. Parkinsonian plus syndrome is definitely a confusing disease. There is not much out there and what is there is hard to get definitive answers from. I really appreciate all you insight and help.
