I know this report was issued back in April. My apologies if this has already been discussed here. Seems groundbreaking, though.

Blackfeather, I don't recall if we discussed this or not in April, although I do remember the article. Although I certainly thought it was interesting, I think many of us don't get very excited anymore with preclinical or animal research. In this case it was just fruit flies. Unfortunately, there have been so many successful studies in that arena, yet, to date, not one has ever carried forward successfully to human studies. So, let's see how the research progresses.

What does annoy me greatly are news articles that lead off the story, based on fruit fly research, with "a cure is on the horizon". That's just bad reporting.
