Cyclooxygenase-2 is instrumental in Parkinson's disease neurodegeneration
..(COX-2 inhibitors penetrate the blood brain barrier ) I am not suggesting anyone begin taking COX 2 inhibitors- may be something to discuss with your physician if one is interested. This study was done in mice.

I recall the recommendation for trying Mobic from one of the neurologists at Ohio State whom we consulted in the early years of PD treatments. She related that , though all observational, she had many patients with PD who reported improvement of symptoms with its use. My husband did begin using a normal dose of Mobic daily, though after 4 months of use, a routine blood work noted increases in liver function tests. A pharmacist friend looked over his medications list and had my husband stop Mobic. A recheck of his liver function tests 6 weeks later revealed these had returned to normal. Did not retry Mobic.
