My doctor is John Roberts at Virginia Mason in Seattle. I recommend him without reservation. Welcome to the Northwest!

Thanks for the recommendation, Nan. The Northwest is spectacularly beautiful. I am moving in with my son and his family so as long as the volcanoes don't rumble and the Cascadia subduction zone doesn't subduct too quickly, I should be happy here. Sunshine is so overrated.

maybe this will help, but i think mds's are going to be in king or pierce counties - seattle or tacoma. just time your appts between 10am and 12am, you might miss the traffic . if you seriously want to see if you qualify for DBS don't delay, you might not qualify in the future. SWEDISH is huge and they do the most DBS's by far and have the most MDS's. SWEDISH just had a scandal in their neurosurgery dept, dunno if NEUROSURGEONS doing DBS's were involved.
on avg. seattle gets less rain than N.Y. city, but by chance were're having the wettest year on record. great for skiers!

I hiked for four hours today in the mountains in the rain. It was lovely.

Re the. hiking in the cold rain. I'm thankful that after 9 years with PD I can still go hiking in the cold rain with my friends. They cheerfully wait for me to catch up when needed.

Gerry,

I just had a call from the Marysville YMCA to say they are starting the Pedaling For Parkinson's program May 1. Yesterday I had a similar call from the Ft. Worth, TX Y that they are starting the program at two sites.
