What: I want to get a feel for how many PwP and their carers and friends are citizen-scientists.
Why: Rather than work in isolation, I think we would make more progress if we worked together. Where: If there is enough interest, I will form a sub-forum or, possibly, a forum for citizen scientists in any health related area. Who: Let me explain, I'm interested in people who try to reduce the effects of PD by building gadgets, writing computer programs, designing novel exercise regimen, measuring their symptoms and who look for readily available foods that appear to offer therapeutic value. Examples: lap-top based side-to-side tap test; prevalence of PD across England using government data; levodopa equivalent dose calculator; measure and improve posture using an Android smart phone. If these are the type of things that you're involved in, please reply with a list of your interests. John

Hey John,
I’m in! I have been hacking away at this thing since diagnosis in 10/2010. I attack it with attitude, exercise, mindfulness, diet, and a kind of self-derived concoction using Mucuna. Every day is an adventure, but I seem to have a stable regimen that let’s me live the family life. I am 58 and most people wouldn’t put me past 45, unless I try to walk during an ‘off’ time. Then, I look like a 45 year old acting like a 75 year old.. ;-). I too am looking for ‘hackers’ trying to understand more about PD than we might about through typical channels. Thanks!
