Default Personal PD info

Okay, I must have too much time on my hands (which isn't true) but I want to get off of the merry-go-round for awhile at home, in this thing called "life", so I'm taking a break and logging on to find my friends.

A few weeks back, I suggested that it might be nice to include the month/year that each of us were diagnosed and, if willing, our age. This helps not only newbies but all of us who are seeking answers, especially those answers that relate specifically to the timeframe of having PD.

A lot of us included this information in the PERSONAL PROFILE section under our names, in the LOCATION field. (See Steffi's info, my info, and a host of others).

Now I"m wondering if there isn't a way to have a thread for just that type of info. This info could then be posted on the "sticky" section where it's accessible to all, every single time that we log on.

The difference is if there is some way to include this info, say, in an excel spreadsheet (or something similar) which could include "fields" that could be sorted.

Many of us know that we can use the forum tools and search feature to find both topical information (i.e. the word incontinence), as well as a search for a specific individual. Now I'm wondering if there's a way to include this personal info (name, location, date diagnosed, age at diagnosis, and maybe even medications, alternative therapies, etc. that may benefit others).

I am by no means a computer expert, but if any of you are, how could we go about doing this? Do you even WANT to go about doing this?

Example:

name: proudest_mama
country: USA
state: Texas
date diagnosed: 10/03
age at diagnosis: 43
medications currently used: Mirapex, Artane, Wellbutrin, Azilect

Now, say, a new person adds this info:

name: mountain_climber
country: UK
state/city: Nottingham
date diagnosed: 4/02
age at diagnosis: n/a

If we put that information in a table of some sort (again, like an excel spreadsheet) it could either be printed out, or viewed, each and every time that we'd like that information. It could also be sorted by fields ... date of diagnosis, age at diagnosis, etc. This needs to be a continuously running list so that anyone who wants to join (it would NOT be required!!) could include their information.

Oh, and just now I realized (lightening bolt!) that I could start an excel spreadsheet myself, here at home, people could forward their info to me either by my e-mail or PM, and I could continuously update it and send it to them by e-mail.

Thoughts??? I'm always, always, always open to suggestions because I learned a long time ago that the more input, the better. If you think this idea is ridiculous, repetitive, mundane, whatever, please feel free to say so. I'd rather have honesty at the beginning than find out later that it wasn't viable in the first place!

Default Talk to Paula.

A few years ago, Paula initiated such a spreadsheet. She and several others did a terrific job.She might be able to give you some insight.

Also, a couple of years ago, Ron Hutton put together a graph that we used to compare our symptoms, progression rate and several other factors involved with pd. I found that extremely interesting.
