Default thank you Tena

Txlady was an excellent advocate for her daughter and it is painful for us all to hear about her condition. Our prayers go out to her and family.

Default very hard to sleep tonight

Txlady asked me if I wanted to tell her "lilspud" anything -so tx
put the phone to my lil spuds ear -she is 32 years old now, and her baby is 8 years old - I spoke to her too,
I told her, I love her and it was okay to let go of this life - God is calling her to come home.
getting choked up -
peace to you all
luv

Default Through many years...

... many of us got updates about "lil spud's" condition from her mom, TxLady, who informed us of her condition, her drug regimen (she had horrible dyskinesia) and about a few other things from time to time, as they tended to be quiet people, not wanting to put themselves in the "spotlight". Let us pray for them and honor their wishes now.
I am very sad for what has happened to one of "ours". It should be a daily reminder to us that life is short, and while being a gift, it should never be taken for granted. I hope that this event brings all of us closer together and that we try harder to think of our fellow PWP's suffering, not just our own individual cross that we have to bear.
Life is finite for everybody, so let's celebrate it, either happy and healthy and laughing all the way, or hardly able to walk, in pain, and downright grumpy. We all are the same, no matter what differences we might perceive. Life is tough for all of us, so we should all help each other as much or in any way that we can. Peace to all of you, we'll all meet again together in one point of a singularity, in which we were all one.

Heart

Tena, I can only imagine your heartache. Wish I was there to give you a huge hug. But alas, only a cyber hug is available I hope I don't cause you too much addtional heartache by including this quote from the coauthor of The Art of Condolence.

The risk of love is loss, and the price of loss is grief -
But the pain of grief
Is only a shadow
When compared with the pain
Of never risking love.

Default Immortal

There’s people one meets in life that seemingly were born to suffer. Yet they generally handle adversity so well that they seem “immortal.” The weaker their body gets, & the more obstacles that they face physically, the stronger they get in character & in spirit. I’m not talking about a relationship with God, although that happens too, & I encourage it. I’m speaking of the “spirit” of the inner person that not only cannot be kept down, but in a way, they seem to flourish much like a cactus in the desert. Conditions that would devastate the rest of the world, cause a cactus to produce beautiful budding flowers, & yes, a few thorns for self preservation. That’s how I see Lil’Sud, & TxLady, in my heart they are immortal.

May God them grace, peace, & mercy.

Default So sorry, Tena

Tena...I join with all the others in expressing my heartfelt sympathy to you. I only hope that you are comforted by Carolyn's quotation from "The Art of Condolence". In reading this "quote", it absolutely described for me the feelings I have long experienced but never was quite able to express. The message seems to be so in "sync" with, "'Tis better to have loved and lost than never to have loved at all." May the pain that you are experiencing now be at least somewhat lessened in light of the pain you would have experienced had you not had the opportunity to have loved one so deeply.

Peace, blessings and comfort to you...
Therese

Default thank you all-

dear all,
I spoke briefly with Txlady alittle bit ago, and "lil' spud" is fading,
but Tx asked for your continued prayers -so that lil'spud does not suffer much longer...
God Bless you all...

Default Tena...

I have just watched yet again, your inspirational film but this time with a heavier heart. It is so sad to hear of anyones passing from this life, even harder when it is one so young...but the poignancy when it is one of our "family" is more apparent still....and tonight I shall spend some time in quiet prayer for that brave young lady, her daughter, her family,,you dear lady, and indeed for all those whose lives are touched by this illness.

My faith tells me that loving arms are waiting for this courageous young lady...and will gently lead her home.

With sadness.
Steff

all the years I've been comin around to your place for a cup of green tea and a donut this has gotta be the toughest thread to read without getting a little emotional.

After watching the excellent video, "In Search of a Champion"....again.....this song, regarding the relationship between mother & child says it all for me.

TxLady: There are so many things in this world that I do not understand, and this has to be the worst of them. I ask God, "Why?", but I don't get an answer that makes any sense to me. Perhaps some day this will become clearer, but all that I know about helping with this grief is to silently hold your hand, and to be there and to listen.

God can seem so distant sometimes, but right now He is closer than you might ever believe possible, and can help with all of these things. It is okay to get angry with Him, and to rage and to yell and to cry; He will understand, and love you all the more.

In the end, all I can do is say, I'm sorry for your grief, and that of your grand-daughter, and to give you all of the love I can.
