I do not want the closed thread brought up here again please.
What I would like tho, is to try to work out our own problems before reporting it to the mods or John. Here's my tired old example that I've repeated so many times. If we were all sitting around a table, we could work so many misunderstandings out and I think that could happen here too...no I know it can We've done it many times. An argument can end up in a good place. At first it's emotion, but eventually it gets clearer what the other is saying. So not speaking to anyone in particular, I'm just suggesting that sometimes steam needs to be released, feeliings need to be validated, - we are adults, and the closing of this thread is our own fault for reporting it like pressing a hidden button alarm at a bank robbery. The argument is cut off mid-emotion, no solution, and will happen again. We didn't have time to edit anything. And it ends with us all looking out of control ad hominem which I had to look up in the dictionary...lol two cents, Paula |

in my opinion if any member wishes to express a contentious comment concerning any other member, (not subject, note), then they should do so via private messages.
I don't want to waste my time wading through comments such as we have recently seen. Thankfully such comments are rare. (Remember it takes 60 muscles to frown, 30 to smile but ony 15 to knock some ar@@hole out). Aftermathman |

In my better days I hosted several forums and inevitablely friction and turmoil arose. Sometimes we resolved the problems and sometimes we didn't but as Paula suggests open dialog must occur or nothing will be resolved.
I am reminded of when my kids were growing up and spats occurred, I always said "Come on, now let's try to get along". I don't know if it was my tone of voice, my facial expression, or the kids fear of where I may go next ~smile~ but they always ended up laughing and the problem was solved. So visualize a 60 year old man, with two DBS "horns", face like he had just sucked the juice out of two lemons, and in a child like voice saying "Come on now let's all get along" and smile!! |

I really dont know exactly how to respond to this without starting more chaos, but I will do my best
First I agree with Paula..We need to resolve our own differences as the Moderators suggested that the attacking comments be edited by the author before the Admin or the Mods have to take action I found myself in a set of circumstances where another forum member was getting accused of something that he wasnt guilty of, that in fact I was guilty of..So I knew the right thing to do was to step foward and admit my guilt, and I did..That was my primary reason for stepping foward..The second reason was because I knew that 2 of the posters. ,ie the accuser and the accused, have had words before on occasion at BT-1 and in my judgement, because of what I knew about the nature of the differences between the accuser and the accused I knew it had the potential of getting ugly, and had I not blew the whistle on myself then I would be the blame for whatever words and/or hard feelings ensued between these two guys..I knew full well that my admission would initiate a problem but I saw no alternative but to do what I thought was right, and the right thing to do was to let the blame be directed at myself instead of an innocent bystander who happen to use the phrase "Fugedaboudit" and was challenged on it Differences can be resolved..But it depends on who the parties involved are..and because of that these issues are resolved instead by the Admin and Mods as was in this particular case..Ive learned and know from my experience on other message boards that there are some folks who will never live in harmony under the forum, and that is what the ignore option is for..Shame on me for not taking my own advise

I also really dont know exactly how to respond to this without starting more chaos. So I have asked the Moderators to censor the potentially inflammatory parts of my response before I posted it. Here is the censored version :
I ********* a ******* ****** against this m****** and yet *** b*** giraffe *** ******* b**** w*** a lorry load of interesting cheeses. Despite my f****** g**** the same ***, in a matter of minutes he ***** ******* George W.Bush in a dress. When I ******* *** the ******, he ******** ** a ******* as if my hovercraft was full of eels. I hope that makes my views clear. |

hey paula,
acccck we are all a little sensitive from time to time, so i'm sure we can work things out amicably, it's all cool. but, if it's not going to work out and becomes a personal type of thing, it may be a good idea to attempt to resolve the conflict outside of the forums because we all have a lot on our plates. no one wants to be discouraged from going someplace due to turmoils, sometimes, we have too much 'reality', negatives things going on and just want a few positive experiences on a darkened night, quiet visit to catch up on friends, information and get outside of our own realms for a while. you kind of have to be careful about asking for opinions, because they're like tails, (butts for the southern speaking impaired, lol) everybody has one and some of them stink love ya hon tammy |
