Default Weekly Check-In Sept 16-22, 2007 Welcome New Community Members

Hi Everyone..A warm welcome to our new members!

A cold front went through here today, and its pretty chilly out there tonight..I love this cooler weather

I put my boat back in the water this week, and Im getting ready to get back in the swing of things again..I changed meds this week, and went from 3x25/100 daily to 2x50/200 Sinamet CR..The CR made a big difference for me, and I feel much better the past few days..I finally got my Medicare Part D prescription plan from AARP, and I think it will accomodate me for the amount of meds I currently take

I resigned from PAN this week..I was going to go to my APDA board meeting to announce my resignation there, but got caught in a massive traffic jam on the way down there, so I took an exit and headed back home, and sent them an e-mail..They responded that they would still like me to stay on the board but in another capacity..I havent decided what I want to do in regards to that..I've got a month to think about it..I sent PAN an e-mail on Thursday, but havent heard back from them yet..I just have absolutely no desire to do it anymore..I was involved in fisheries politics, and advocacy for years, and it burnt me out..We have another court case going on now, and I dont even bother to show up in the courtroom to lend support..Been there..Done that..Had enough

I guess Im gonna keep the new kitty..My calico cat goes after her everyday..The Vet told me that calicos are very possessive, and she is some jealous..But they'll sort it out themselves in time I suppose

How was your week?

Default well , I am relieved........

my wife underwent brain surgerry on tuesday to remove an arachnoid cyst that was causing her to lose her eyesight and was impinging on her pituitary gland. They drained and removed it through her nose, and packed the resulting void with fatty tissue from her tummy, held in place by a titianium screen.

It took almost 5 hours, and I was a wreck. Dr. Kelly is well know for this type of surgery and he did a super job. It'll be another 10 days before she is back on her feet. SHe is home now though and the kids are taking great care of her.

I'd like to thank you for all your prayers and support.

You know who you are!!

Charlie

Charlie, best to your wife. I can only imagine how scary the waiting must have been for you and your kids.

I am off tomorrow for Philadelphia for my 3-month post surgical evaluation. Hoping for success.

The weather her is in the 60s and 70s during the day. Fall is finally approaching and soon the leaves will begin turning and falling. And, the raking will begin big time.

Default Another week already

Charlie, haven't been able to reach you by phone, but still my knees are getting worn smooth. Glad to hear of your beloved's healing and your endurance. Love to all from us.

I had so much fun at a local community college class on spiritual journaling that I proposed I teach it at my church. They're letting me do it four weeks in October. Lots of prep going on here, even able to focus for a few minutes at a time, LOL.

Went to a computer club meeting Saturday. The speaker didn't get to the topic I went for, but I learned some other useful stuff. On the way out someone told me to take it easy. Guess I'd been a bit dyskinetic...

Beloved and I went to a town on the eastern shore of the Chesapeake Bay yesterday to our favorite restaurant. The oysters from Tilghman Island were perfect, on a perfect day. We used the side roads and didn't have to sit in stop-and-go traffic on the way back until we were almost to the Bay Bridge. The water was a deep blue, and there was a forest of white sails on it. Wow.

Stay on,
Jaye

Default I didn't know.

Charlie, I can hardly stand to imagine what you have been through - and all the time you've been able to post so positively. You are one strong PDer. I am so very sorry that you and your wife have had to go through such an ordeal, and I am so happy for you that it went so very well. I wish your wife speedy mending and I wish both of you all the very best. Your spirit is admirably bright, it must be healing in itself that you are not collapsed and in despair. It is inspiring.

Default Sorry

Charlie...I wasn't aware of your wife's surgery. You are always so supportive of everyone throughout our ordeals that I really feel so remiss at not having been "in touch" with what was happening with your wife...and with you, too. How stressful this must have been for you, Charlie, but as is your nature, always, you "came through" it all and, best of all, your wife is doing so well. May her healing continue, Charlie.

Blessings to both of you...
Therese
