Default Anyone have sewing machine advice??

I gave away my sewing machine in disgust and despair when my tremor seemed to make it impossible to sew. That was five years ago. I don't exactly miss sewing, I've sewn an awful lot in my time, but by I now have a basket full of mending that would take minutes to fix - if I only had a sewing machine. I now know that I can easily sew for years to come.
I wonder if there are sewing machines that are even more user friendly than the old, ordinary, basic Singer zigzag that I gave away.
Any good ideas and suggestions will be much appreciated.
