squeezed into the 2 days. Lots of notes to go through, but the highlight of the conference for me was hearing Dr. Jeffrey Kordower, who did the oriignal preclinical GDNF studies with monkeys, and is now working with Ceregene in the development of CERE-120 (neurturin) state publicly that the decision not to use GDNF in further clinical studies was not a scientific decision, but was due to Amgen not allowing other researchers to use GDNF in clinical trials. These few words spoke volumes to me!

The Webcast
 

I watched the webcast live in my office. It was awsome! I watched quite a few of both the scientific basic science and medical/QOL presentations. They were all of topnotch quality. The WPC format, with both scientific and patient-oriented sessions with everyone participating was the secret; that, and the excellent quality of the speakers. The whole thing is available now at the PDF website. If you haven't seen it yet, it is definitely worth your time.

Just received email from PDF...The Webcast of the symposium will be available in two weeks.

So, if you miss the live-cast, you will be able to hear and see the syposuim in early November.

The webcast is now available online. As I was up to my neck in t-shirts during the talks I didn't actually get to see any myself (doh!) so I'm going to start watching them tonight. I'll also post some summary comments after each one over on the PD forum on PatientsLikeMe.

We're currently looking at communities for people with PD-plus like Progressive Supranuclear Palsy and Multiple System Atrophy too if anyone's got any views they'd like to share with me on those.
