Given this data I'm already past my allotted years and on overtime.

Seriously though, this relationship is not at all surprising given the host of diseases that are associated with anosmia. Besides PD, you have most other neurological conditions, Alz, MS, diabetes, MSA, brain tumors, Paget's, etc. which could lead to loss of smell. People with these type of illness tend to die sooner than those without them.
