I am learning to know you , trying to give you a face in my mind. I also give you a color to remember YOU ! Wat color would you like best ?
Why do you like it ?
Are you busy with the Thanksgiving ? My body and my thinking goes faster after starting with Madopar (Sinemet).
Have a glorious weekend .

Default Hello Vertigo.

You can find a picture of two of us fellow forumites on page 11 in Weekly Check-In Sept 30-Oct 6, 2007.
It looks as if my husb. and I will have to eat the whole turkey ourselves this Thanksgiving, in which case it will be a duck or a pheasant since husb. isn't wild about turkey. Our children will be here for Christmas, so the in-laws get them for Thanksgiving. So I'm not busy at all.
Do you have Mortens Aften in Norway? If you do, I hope your goose was good.
Color? Blue of course - it's the favorite color of most Danes.
I'm very happy for you that the medicine is working so well for you.

Ha' det godt,

birte

Grin Rose pink

Hi Vertigo,

I am the friend on the right side of the picture on that hyggelig day when Birthe and I met in person. I chose rose pink because it makes me feel cheerful. My true favorite color is Danish blue (cobalt blue, like the Christmas plates). Maybe that's why I enjoy Birthe so much.

We are going to visit friends for Thanksgiving. None of our children can come. All of my family live on the West coast of the U.S., while I live on the East coast.

May you and your sick friend find peace with her illness.

Jaye

Default Aaaargh and ak ja......

I take pills to help my balance, but I haven't found any to help my manners - and they seem to be failing me too. Here I showed a picture of Jaye and me, and I did not introduce Jaye....Not a word did I say about the wonderful day when we met. And it was so very hyggelig. I don't know what I was thinking, I think I wasn't thinking at all.
And still you say such nice things about me, Jaye. Thank you, you are a real friend.

I'm really blue now. I'm going to stand in the corner until I've forgiven myself.

Older and no wiser birte.

Default Oh, Birthe...

...you are being silly again. Vertigo could read about me because I posted the picture, and I also posted on her first thread here, so no introduction was necessary. I thought her mention of the "friend" was a kind invitation for me to step forward again. Let's just not worry, and have some more hyggilig times!

vertigo, i just wanted to pop in say hello and welcome.

i am part norwegian. i think one of the last of my family to make lefse and kumla. can't speak a word of norwegian anymore. my great-grandmother and grandfather was from norway and i could always understand her. even when she wasn't speaking english.

i still have a little card with a cookie recipe and she wrote this:
I Jesu navn går vi til bords
å spise, drikke på ditt ord.
Deg, Gud til ære, oss til gavn,
Så får vi mat i Jesu navn.

Amen.

my picture is in my profile. i always pick brown...for my favorite food CHOCOLATE!

Default It is a prayer , THANK TO THE LORD FOR THIS FOOD

Hei Curious,- How nice that you want to be my chocolate friend. Chocolate is very healthy ,we should have some every day, dessert of life.

Was your family from the west coast of Norway? We still eat lefse and kumle, but most people buy it ,it takes a long time to make it ,and Norwegian women don`t have time to cook. They work , and do sport, driving the car ,shopping ,loving their children and being very, very tired in the evening.
This is not every woman ,but most of the young and strong ones.

About my wish for a collar, it is shoving me the persons that think a bit like me, passion, fantasy, courage.

Best - from me,

Default I see you, Rose pink

Dear Jaye
I can see that you are cheerful, then it is good to be near you, and a rose is soft and the smell is something special.
I have been in the theater this afternoon with my two grandchildren , it was a fairytale story ,in December we will go to the opera in Oslo to See "The Nutcracker", ballet. In my mind I gather good memories for the good life.
When I visit my seek friend and See how she change because of the morphine is not easy, but it is life, and we have to take it all-.

Best greetings
