Hi Everyone!..Well the weather sure turned cold around here all of a sudden..Brrrrrr!!!..Its barely making it over 30, and windy almost everyday..I think fishing is just about over for this year..The next decent weather we get Im gonna round up my traps and bring them home

Im still waiting for my foot dragging lawyer to finalize my Mothers estate..Ive been patient, but Im getting ready to blow a head gasket!..This is really starting to bother me now..Ive still got credit card debt from when I had the big boat for dockage fees, boatyard bills, and repairs, plus the motor job for my truck, and a new breaker panel for the house, etc, and because Im only making the minimum payments, the thing is accumulating interest, and is becoming a monster..My SSDI check doesnt go far as a result, and X-mas is coming, and I am dreading it..The lawyer says we will wrap it up next week, and if I dont hear from him next week, the following Monday he's going to get an earful..His excuse is work overload, and he knows Im disabled.. ..As soon as we settle this up my present financial troubles are over

On a better note Im still feeling good and walking as close to normal as possible..The dystonia hasnt been kicking up as much I think because Ive had some time to relax

Today we got our first Winter Storm of the season. About 12 inches of blowing and drifting snow. It is certainly cold outside. Spent the week trying to make a "whip crack" (a percussion instrument where two pieces of wood hit against to make a sound like a cracking whip. Used in Leroy Anderson's "SleighRide." Didn't have any power tools so had to do all the sawing by hand. My husband said I actually did a good job.

Steve, I does sound like it's time to gather up the conch traps. By the way, you wrote a couple of weeks ago that the "take" has been down lately and you thought it was time to use different bait. As I understand, you have been using horseshoe crab. Is that by-catch from the deep water boats?What else is available for the purpose that would be possible, cost-wise?
I will send your lawyer hurry-up thoughts. Those guys (especially the good ones) are always behind.
We had a housefull for Thanksgiving. All of our children (4) and grandchildren (3) and spouses (2) were here. It was good to have them here. The youngest granddaughter (almost 4 yo, going on 16) is very strong-willed and verbally precocious. I understand that she pretty well rules her pre-school in Illinois. I'm afraid her parents are going to really have a handfull when she approaches adolecence.
I'm trying to get back to regular exercising, besides walking the dog. I got out my Nordic Track again and have been using it for aerobic workouts. Meds still working great. I'm thankful for that.

I'm glad you're feeling better. The relaxation is the big key in this as I've discovered myself. Don't get too stressed over the lawyer. I'm sure he's a good guy that is overworked. It's the good ones that get all the work to do.

For me this past week could have been a little better. It started off okay even though I went back to work, but on Thursday I had awful chest pains. I couldn't take a deep breath. Every time I inhaled, my chest hurt so I spent the day sleeping and breathing very shallow. I don't know whether this was the PD or just a bug going around that I picked up. There are so many sick people at work, I've been pretty scared of getting one of the bugs from them.

There is one thing that scares me quite a bit now. I keep falling or nearly fall way too much. This happens mostly in the morning before my first dose has kicked in. My legs are stiff and when I try to stand up from a sitting position or move suddenly, I keel over. I've landed flat on my butt quite unexpectedly in the kitchen a few times while going from one kitchen counter to the other. I turned to put something from the sink on to the opposite counter, and wonk I was on the floor! I also noticed I have difficulties going from carpet to tile floors. This is presents a problem when I am in shopping malls and stores, and at work as well going from the office area to the warehouse, which has a cement floor.

Driving too has become difficult as well particularly in the morning. I have a difficult time pressing the gas pedal and I'm afraid I may not have the reaction time going from gas to brake should there be a stopping emergency on the highway.

On a better note...

The good news is I've been playing the piano a little more again, which is a good thing. This is my soul and I'm glad my new dosage of Sinemet is working. It doesn't help the tremor, which has become worse, but it helps the arms and fingers move, which is a good thing. I attended a Piano World (www.pianoworld.com) party at a local piano repair shop yesterday. It was fun to eat good food (in moderation), enjoy the company of good musicians, and play a brand new Schimmel 230 (7'6") grand piano. This is a truely gourgeous instrument that has a bell like treble and a rumbly bass. Hanas Vogel, the current owner of the Schimmel factory came in from Germany to speak with us about the factory, and as an owner of one of his Vogel 177T(5'10") pianos I was really excited to meet him. The new Schimmel is way too big and way more expensive then I can aford. Otherwise I would trade in my Vogel for the new one.

Vicky - It sounds like you're having a lot o fun. Just becareful around the tools.

Robert - I'm glad you're doing okay. Exercise is good.

The horseshoe crabs are picked up on the shores during spawning, and also by draggers in the deeper waters..They increased in price when the bio-medical industry began using their blood of suture dressing..They draw a certain amount of the crab's blood, and return the crabs to the sea alive..They pay as much as $2.50 or better per crab, whereas before the bio-medical usage, they were only worth .25-.40 cents apiece for bait..Big difference from the days of old to today..In the process of changing bait, I had some traps baited with horseshoe crab, and others with green crab, and I didnt see any difference in production between the two baits..So Im pretty certain that the bait isnt the issue..I think the run ended early this year

Ive been calling the lawyer about every 3 weeks..The probate end of the case ended in June, so the rest was a matter of paper work, which didnt get started untill Sept when I called him and asked him what the story was?..At that point he started filing the proper paper work with Division of Taxation..There is no Inheritance Tax in R.I., but you have to go through the formalities..Here it is December now!

ive been dx with pd going on three years now. i'm 43 with two girls age 12 and 16.

i've not found anyone with young onset within 200 miles of me so i rely deeply on this site and yopa for support. i'm still trying to figure out the difference of the two sites in terms of mission and vision.

in terms of life, i work full time, and stay as active as possible. i am an avid curler in the winter along with running and strength training. in summer i love to go on high adventure trips, golf and sail. 20 mg of requip a day keep me moving along.

i'm very involved in running the local pd support group which has just grown to about 40 persons every month. plus i have attended yopn and and have become active in pan.

look forward to becoming more involved.
