Don't know anything about this book, but it does sound interesting:
Living with Parkinson's and Poetry Author, Peter Stephen Middleton, United Kingdom http://books.lulu.com/content/1700411 Description:a collection of poems written to empathise with fellow PD sufferers who struggle with even the most routine of tasks everyday of their lives. This one I do know about: Voices from the Parking Lot: Parkinson's insights and perspectives by Dennis Greene; Joan Blessington Snyder; and Craig L. "Our book grew out of a 22 piece art exhibit of paintings by Jane Scott and photographs by Marc Esser called “The Letting Go – A Parkinson’s Story,” which chronicles Ms. Scott’s father, Claude Scott, through his struggle and transformation as a result of Parkinson’s disease. "The 15 pieces of art featured in our book are accompanied by 75 literary works that share the stories of people around the world who live each day with Parkinson’s disease. "Helen Gurley Brown, Editor-in-Chief, Cosmopolitan International Editions, praised "Voices from the Parking Lot," as did Abe Lieberman, medical director of the National Parkinson’s Foundation, in his reaction of our book. One of the most interesting facets of Sarah Nock's book "Ponderings on Parkinson's" which I mentioned a couple of weeks ago is the importance of poetry in helping her to keep going in a positive way for over twenty years, one of the chapters centres on Hilaire Belloc's 'Laughter and the Love of Friends' for example and apparently she's working on a personal anthology of works that inspire, motivate and comfort. I asked on NeuroTalk if anyone else had read this wonderful memoir I found in my local book shop but I've since discovered that it was only published this autumn. However it's No.1 in the Parkinson's section on Amazon at the moment and can also be ordered direct, for details go to <www.ferryhousebooks.co.uk>. If anyone out there has read it, I'd love to get some feedback because I have very personal reasons for needing to understand PD.
