Okay this is weird, and the fourth time I've done this while sleeping. I've sliced my tongue wicked to a point where it was bleeding. This surely woke me out of a deep sleep. I feel the tongue move then the jaw slams down on the side of it. I have no control over the movement either - it just happens!
I noticed that this happens when I'm going off so could this be another one the dyskinesias or myclonus spells? Anyone else have this? Swell, another thing to look forward to. John |

I've been sort of sucking on my tongue, awake or asleep. My neuro called it a dystonia. Sometimes it's quite sore. My jaw goes to one side and little children run away--at last, a benefit! A little dark humor there (I'm actually a very proud stepgrandmother).

I wonder if a mouth guard type of thing might help, like the kinds they make for TMJ { jaw misalignment} sufferers.
There are guards for teeth grinders too. Might be worth a try.
