Default supplements, etc.

Hope everyone is doing well. I've missed you!

Would anyone like to comment on what vitamins/supplements they take and special diet they might be on or foods that help?

Mine:
CoQ10 300mg 4x daily
vit. e 300 4x daily
B100 1x daily
vit. c 1000 1x daily

I'm just shooting in the dark, if anyone has any advice. I lost the info the last time we did this.

Hello all, been lurking for a while... Here's what I'm taking :

2 x 500mg Omega 3/6/9 + 100mg Vit E
2 x 500mg Turmeric extract
2 x 30mg Ginkgo Biloba

Although I've not really seen the Omega oils or gingko recommended wrt PD, I do find they seem to help with memory and concentration.

I was also taking 3x400mg CoQ10, but in addition to the expense I found the sheer size of the capsules very difficult to get down...

I'm waiting for a delivery of Alpha Lipoic Acid and Acetyl L Carnitine which I have used before and seemed to get some benefit from.

Any suggestions/comments gratefully received.

Hi Mary Francis, Steffi, Toob:

I remember that question from a year or so ago. Sorry it got lost. I used to load up on Vit. A, C, E etc, etc. Now I take a baby aspirin, soy milk, blue berries, oatmeal, fruit, fish, various vegetables; i.e. I try to eat healthy.

Hey Steffi, Toob and Burckle!!!!!! Thanks for responding. I wish I had printed out the info when we did it earlier (last summer). Oh, well.

Steffi, I've missed you so!!! I hope you are doing well. I tried to think of a song to add to your list but.....

Has anyone heard from Michael?

LOL,
Mary

A note on Co-Q10, I talked to a Perque sales rep so the info could be bogus, but she said that an independant study done on Co-Q10 resellers showed that much of the Co-Q10 on the shelves is Co-Q8 and has no effect on human's. Apparently, Perque's Mito Gaurd Plus is the one of the most pure. It is also more $$ than anything else I've found. I take 900mg a day and notice a difference in rigidity if I don't take it for a while. The rumor is,,, Japan manufactures most of the worlds Co-Q10 and not much of it makes it out. Conspiracy theory, who knows, here is a more detailed article about it - http://www.nutrilearn.com/softgel/coqsol.html
Coenzyme Q10 manufactured by microbiological fermentation is 100% in the all-trans isomeric form, identical in structure of the coenzyme Q10 made by the human body. However, material made by microbiological fermentation has the potential to contain other homologues, sometimes referred to “related substances” such as CoQ7, CoQ8, and/or CoQ9. Subsequent purification steps generally greatly reduce or eliminate the presence of the other forms of coenzymes listed above.
