Thumbs up Is there a plaster for PD ?

Hello-
Do you know if there is a plaster for PD ? I have heard from a friend who know a PD man ,he is using a plaster !

May be it is a sleeping pill plaster. The PD man is a doctor, may be it is research.

Do you mean the neupro patches? They belong to the agonist family. They are used quite a bit here in the U.K but do not know if they are popular in the U.S The main problem seems difficulty in getting them to stick, skin irritation and the agonists favourite side effect:sickness

The generic name for the dopamine agonist used in adhesive dermal patches is ropinirole.

I do not like to contradict but I am pretty sure that the drug used in the patches is Rotigotine.Itis relatively new on the market. Ropinirole is Requip. It all gets a bit confusing but they are all agonists

Hi I'm currently on Neupro patch and sinemet plus and the actual name of the dopamine agonists is the patch is Rotigotine. I have found it's helped me alot and the only side effect i've experienced is nausea and that calmed down after i got to the dosage needed to control my symptoms.

Default Patches-

Thanks to everybody witch answered my question.
I will talk with my neurology about my medication. Think I am a bit down in my aspect of life, could be better with a different medication.
Whitch antidepressiv medication goes with the PD medicines , have you any experience of this ?
Do you know Pollyanna ::? It is not me . I only laugh when I feel joy and feel happy.

Default My bad!

ECD is right, Rotigotine is the patch agonist. I should have remembered that because I sat beside one of the developers of the patch in a meeting at the 2006 PD congress in Washington.

I presume having a patch not only ensures a even amount of delivery of the drug but that the drug does not have to pass through the liver.Am I right? Here in the Uk we are waiting for a one a day Requip.Have you got it in the U.S and if so, has anyone any experience with it.
