Default Why do we talk to strangers?

Hi all
Here's a bit of rhyme.

WHY DO WE TRUST THE WORDS OF A STRANGER

Why do we trust in the words of a stranger,
because to seek solace is instinctual behaviour.
In a forum we vent our emotions
To hearts we know may also contain commotion

Why do we confide in those who may betray our trust.
To some people to seek attention is a must,
Then it leaves you wondering how sincere
were those heartfelt words which brought you to tear.

To each we write to seek the comfort of sharing
with those who yearn to be our caring.
It is the way we think and move and have our being,
That is the way we begin our seeing.

Our spouses we met whence they were strangers
to seek their friendship the ultimate favour.
The purpose of society to seek the comfort of friendship
to crave the assurance of companionship.

This forum a mixture of types blended in the crucible
of emotion, pain, confusion in a world of undo-able,
The forum a place of retreat from places
that neither tolerate nor understand the pain on our faces.

This forum the only place where someone will listen
to the experience of our life’s mission,
To survive the onslaught of a ruthless dictator
we would prefer to banish sooner than later.

We question the motives of our yearnings
which may lead to the favour of earning
a friendship forged in trust and love
which may come on the wings of a dove.

The fabric of our lives by friendship is formed
and by conflict is torn.
The commonality of our sufferings
to be someone of worth and not of nothing.

We may be quick, rude and impetuous,
but we’re also compassionate kind and gratuitous.
We may engage our mouths before our brains
but in love and understanding the more we gain.

We may be pedantic, aloof and uncaring
towards those people who lives are tearing.
We may use words that are inappropriate
towards those who want more than a poet.

And at the end day when we retire bed
There is always one person’s story left to be read,
On this forum we can dump our sorrows
And release our emotions that make us so hollow.

And when the intentions of this beast
Wake us early in the morning we can at least
Find someone in this forum
That will give us a quorum.

Default Reply from a stranger.

Hei Martin-
My English is not very good, but I have been reading your poem ,used the dictionary , trying to understand it.
You give a lot of yourself in your signature , like I did in the first weeks in this forum. Then I deleted it all . I felt like standing alone on a stage in the light ,with lots of strangers in the dark, looking at me . I was feeling a bit naive and silly, writing about my daily life, showing my trouble and anxiety.
Why dont the others give more in their signature, I asked myself .
It`s the others who have cached it , the security, the personal style - -.

Now I feel I start to know some persons as persons in the forum because they writhe and they show themselves , it has become a communication between us. They are my friends, they are real and they are not strangers any more.
May be I edit my signature , when I feel for it ,
- happiness is just a word for nothing more to loose - , so why not, if someone wants to know more about me, what do I loose?
Things develop by itself , biologically, I dont push anymore, naive or wise.

Default Stranger only the devil – Arabic proverb

Thank you dear poet
Thank you dear Annelise

But yes!
it is strange that
I, who is so bad with words
Have now a mouth and a voice !!!!!!!!!!!

Is it not because I wear the mask of anonymity
I am finally free to uncover my naked sole
Without shame or fear?

and tell my story without décor or distortion
To my fellows in humanity and illness

How odd is it that
I who cherish my solitude
And who is repelled by the mediocre of social contact
find consolation in my fellows stories
As I hope they will find in mine

I have a true wish to meet them
And see their faces
And touch their hands
As they touched my heart

They are no strangers but true friends

But Is it because my true wish is impossible
That I love them truly and unconditionally?

Dear imark-
You are a true friend, your words reach out for me, and I get a kind of piece in my body and soul .
We, who becomes friends in this forum has discovered something special and merciful, a dimension for people all over this world.
