The illustrations in this July, 2008 story in the London Daily Mail appear to show a different way of keeping the LEDs close to the head...with the gaps, not so much like a helmut anymore.
It will be interesting to follow this patient's progress.
This $2000 projector doesn't cite any clinical benefit for the money but tries to capitalize on the buzz from the original reports.
