Default Somewhere, one day you just know it's going to happen

If you have been tuned into the last few weeks of health headlines they have shown reports on a woman who was said to be less than 30 days from dying when she got a new kind of assistive heart pump. She gradually got stronger and soon returned to the classroom to teach. Now she is scheduled to have the pump removed! Her own heart has recovered given the chance to "rest". A second report showed that doctors had injected stem cells into a dead heart. Days later it began to beat. They already stem cell transplants for dogs where they give them an autotransfusion of their own stem cells to combat hip problems. The dogs are jumping around in
2-3 months whereas they were nearly lame prior to the surgery. You just know that somewhere there is a doctor who is going to say we have got to find out if this works. If it weren't for all the legal crap we'd have an answer by now. The damned FDA hasn't proven worth its salt. We incarcerated Dr. Kevorkian for something that you have to admit deserves discussion. I just wonder how long we'll lock somebody up for when they try to give life back to a patient who is wheelchair bound, can't feed or care for themselves, the simple issue of falling asleep puts them at risk of death because they cannot swallow their own secretions. I could go on but I'll open this one up for discussion and lets see where it goes...
