the Davis Phinney foundation supported the conference-Davis was the first american to win a road stage in the Tour de France in 1986, and won many other biking tours; reported to have won the most races in american biking history. He was diagnosed with parkinson's at age 40. His foundation named the first two national Davis Phinney Research Centers for Parkinson’s disease-- The Neuroscience Institute at the University of Cincinnati (UC) and University Hospital, and Stanford University. His foundation presented a 1/2 day conference in cincinnati on saturday--the sunflower revolution conference. Speakers were from Univ of cincinnati and Stanford univ. Like the WPC in Washington, the conference presented 3 simultaneous sessions, one geared to patients and care givers , one for health professionals and a general topic session.

There was one fact presented which I had not heard or read before--Dr. Fredy Revilla, Univ of cincinnati, stated that the prevalence of Parkinson's has increased in the US from an estimated 1 million persons to 1.5 million!
