Default SPECT scan

Hi:

Is anyone going to New Haven for their SPECT scan? I'm going on February 21 and will be there for a few days. This will be my third scan since diagnosis in 2003.

All the best,

Lloyd

Default Four of my family,

two of my late brother's daughters, one about 42, the other about 52,both unaffected, and my sister,71, also unaffected, and I had SPECTs in February of 2006 at the IND in New Haven.
They mentioned the possibility of repeats in the future, but we have not been contacted so far. My brother was Dxd in 1998 and passed away in 2004. My mother also had young onset (35 y). I called IND in December last year to ask if there were plans for our family to return, but was told that there was no plan to do so at that time.

Dear Tena:

How kind of you to enquire about my upcoming SPECT scan. This will be my third scan and the whole process takes up parts of three days. The first day will be travel to New Haven, the second day will be taking of a "cocktail" to facilitate the scan and the third day will be the scan and return home. Sometimes others are there also for their scans and it gives us the opportunity to socialize. The entire thing (travel, hotel room, meals) is paid for by the study so it's like a mini-vacation with brain scan included. The last time I went there were several folks from California having their brains scanned. The only problem I have is claustrophobia (when they put my head in that cage) which is resolved by taking valium half an hour before the scan. I should add that I believe very strongly in volunteering for medical trials.

All the best,

Lloyd

Thumbs up mri and visualization

dear lloyd,
I had a couple of them done - i promised myself I would close my eyes and visualize
myself standing in front of the most beautiful of ocean's
the Pacific and watch the waves break and roll in, and it worked...
take care,
