When you think about treating diseases, medicines are probably the first things that come to mind. But it's an old martial arts technique that's grabbing the attention of some doctors treating Parkinson's. Hospitals are starting to use Tai Chi to battle the debilitating disease. Doctors say it helps to relax and loosen up the muscles in the body. They also say for people with movement disorders, like Parkinson's, Tai Chi is a great form of exercise.

"What we're finding in today's medical literature is that exercise is key if you're diagnosed with Parkinson's, in fact it's being put up right next to the medicines," Nancy Huggins with the Massachusetts General Hospital said.

They warn, the practice won't slow down the progression of Parkinson's but it can ease the symptoms.
