I always buy trip insurance. It only costs $25 for a coast to coast round trip, and has saved me $600 in canceled plane fares. Al it takes is your doctor to write a note to the insurance company saying you were unable to make the trip.
For a Parkie, it's money well spent.

Default On the road

Hi Everyone:

I am taking my PD on the road again. Later today (Saturday) my son will drive us to Logan airport (Boston) where we'll board a flight to France. Then we'll board a river cruiser and take an 8 day cruise through the south of France. This well be our last trip until July when the whole family will meet at Cold River Camp in New Hampshire for a week of hiking, fun and togetherness. No. I don't hike anymore (knees) but will be available for baby sitting, walking the babies, reading to babies, changing babies. I'm not the best at these chores but sometimes I'm the only one available. They have a piano and my wife brings her music and spends most of the week practicing.

So pleased to see that Fiona has checked in. I've always enjoyed her posts. Rosebud also is more regular now in her posting. It was her postings several years ago (on the old braintalk) that convinced me that this board was worth my time.

I fell a few days ago. Acquired a bump on my head as well as a few bruises on my arm. It was during our morning exercise and my left foot refused to lift up when called upon. Instead it decided to stay in place, throwing my whole boby off balance. Everyone was very solicitous. The physical trainer is pretty. I may fall again.

Have a nice week. All the best,

Lloyd

Default weekly check in

Hello Spring, even though today is 42 degrees and rainy. and it is good to hear from Fiona again; your passionate and refreshing approach to life is delightful to me.
Nothing much new to report, except I am recovering from the flu, as are 2 of our 3 children (none at home, though all live nearby) ,despite receiving the flu vaccine this yr; fortunately my husband did not catch it. Wondering if his daily intake of Amantadine has something to do with his remaining well? I know it is not supposed to work that way; still I wonder. Or perhaps it is all the vitamins and supplements he takes on a daily basis.
News of the Neupro patch is distressing. **** was tried on the patch but could not tolerate it.
Hoping my flowering bulbs make it thru this cold patch.
(just read my post on the forum and realized my husband's name was disallowed--his given name is "Richard"--guess his nickname is verboten)
