The National Parkinson's Foundation has named a new CEO, Joyce Oberdorf.
http://www.parkinson.org/NETCOMMUNIT...ent.Doc?id=261 If her face looks familiar, she was with the Fox Foundation for a number of years. Joyce is very innovative and will no doubt bring fresh, new ideas to the Parkinson's community. Let's show herh our support. Peggy |

Thanks, Peggy. If I wanted to write a note to Ms. Oberdorf, what would be the best contact, do you think? I'm far too lazy to write a letter on paper and get it in the mail. Do you think she would get it if I wrote to contact@parkinson.org ? I intend to read her statement more carefully later on today and pick out one of her goals that is important to me, too, and then say something like: congratulations and I wish you continued success in improving patient care. You have been one of those who understands that we have minds and souls to fight this brain disorder... yadda yadda whatever (please don't anyone quote me).
Wasn't she at the hearing in New York for the patients' lawsuit in the GDNF matter? Haven't seen you since PAN, dear lady. How are you doing? Jaye |

I'm doing fine, now that I survived this bronchial flu or whatever it was. My 74-year-old mother nearly died with it! But Dr. Willocks (that would be me) started on antibiotics at the first sign on infection. which saved me.
I would think email would be the best mode of communication right now. She isn't actually on board until early April. She has a good ear for the grassroot's community. It would be nicee if she got several responses from PWP's/ Peg |

Joyce has an established track record of listening to patients, and she is already familiar with all of the major players in the PD org world - hope this bodes well for a new era of collaboration among and between orgs and patients.

Dear new CEO, Joyce Oberdorf,
my request is simple: - if you are in the know -and you really care about people with PD your goal will be to cure this plague - to give money to the poor PD patients - to advocate for cures not medicines. PD is actually painful - it hurts - terrible pain and little strength for Parkinson's disease patients when we try to walk shakey legs - or painful muscles from the tremors of passive exercise, or the muscles spasm's in the chest becoming so tight -one can not breathe! dear Joyce -your true job's goal - is actually to make your job -extinct... thank you, sincerely - this will be my email to the new CEO...
