The first year I hit the donut hole in July, So that Nov. I researched various plans. I was rold thar Humana sis noy have adonut hiolr. I pdoned them and was told that they had to institute a hole. They rook my list of meds and told me that if I enrolled in their top plan and bought my mrds through their mail order I would not hit the hole untol Sept. I enrolled & paid the premium ($88.0) fpr Jan an d bought my meds for $250, Again did the same fot Feb & March. Held off for April as I had DBS. When I called to order meds mid April they called meback to tell me there was a price inc for mirapex to $1,304.00 for a month sipply. I told them to forget it. When I did noy pay the premium for May they called me. I tolod them to cancel me. I was told that I can't canceluntil November. I todld them to sue me,

The US goverment does not allow the goverment to negotiate price even though the VA does.If you fill a prescrption not in the insurance company's formulary the pharmacy can charge you any price and the cost of the drug goes toward the donut.It's nuts.

MKane, can you elaborate on your post a bit...like, what if anything did you replace Humana with.

I was with Humana the first year only!!

I am collecting these comments for PAN who will soon be working on Medicare Part D, which as you know from the "glowing senior" commercial comments and survey, LACKS the voice of the disabled. We do not take only one medication like many seniors do, my 83 yr old mother for example.

So, I need voices in this thread...as many as possible.

Mary Richards (PAN) is looking for anecdotal comments and where better to find them than a forum filled with disabled people.

I know there are many who continue to be covered by private or spouse employer plans and such, but many of us are forced to submit to this joke of a presription plan.

I now get all my meds from Canada. Rhe Azilect, hoever, bame from the UK

bumping and adding comments from a email from Mary R this morning:

"Yes, please let me know what you hear. Thanks for trying to get folks to open up about this issue. I am even interested in anecdotes like, “yes, I have had trouble getting access to anti-depressants and sleep aides.” Or, “I couldn’t figure out all the different plans in my area, so I just kept my old plan and now I am paying $50 more a month for my prescriptions.” Hopefully, that level of information is not too personal, and it would give me a sense of the systemic issues people are facing.
