I went to the pharmacy today to get a refill of Mirapex. After I got home I realized that the little sack did not have a pill bottle in it, but quite a number of blister packs. Each one has 10 mirapex. To retreive each pill I have to tear off the individual package, tear off the back paper, then punch the pill through the foil. There is no way my pwp can do all of these things. At this point, he is totally self reliant with his meds. I don't want him to lose this and to have to be dependant upon me in for them.
Have you received Mirapex in this packaging? Do you think if I asked the pharmacy they could give us what we need in the pill bottles, as we have been getting for several years now? |

My Dad had pills packaged like that (different ones from yours). I just assaulted them with the scissors and whacked right thru them. Then I included each one in his daily pill dispenser.
Good luck to you!

Yeah, I've encountered that kind of thing - it's like a couple of the PD clinics I've been to in NYC which are located at the furthest possible ends of acre-long hallways, around several bends and tucked behind the remote banks of water coolers....makes you feel like the medical community is really in touch, right?

Return to the pharmacy and ask them to dispense them into a bottle...simple...they should accommodate any disabled patient who needs this done.
Also, request that they do this for each refill?
