Default A Full Path

Many of us have traveled this path of life. You will be bumping shoulders with a large group of folks walking alongside of you. And yes their are days of rain and sunshine ahead for you. So, lace up your walking shoes and hit the trail. Some of my feelings when my ex left when I went on disability: exhausted...confused...ecstatic...guilty...suspici ous...angry...hysterical...frustrated...sad...conf ident...embarrassed...happy...mischievous...disgus ted...frightened...enraged...ashamed...cautious... smug...depressed...overwhelmed...hopeful...lonely. ..disability...jealous...bored...surprised...anxio us...shocked and shy.
Add to the list. Ouch, man watch out for the elbows, this path were on does seem to become more and more full of Parkie's . Walk On and wave good-by to the ones who don't continue on this journey with us. They just don't understand what they have lost.
Anywhooo...smile, nod and wave and buy a box of band aids for the blisters. The trip may be done alone now, but, think of the new folks you will meet walking thru the Valley of Parkinson's. Yeah, I know, a wee bit strange, but, damn interesting folks we are.
Take it easy. Jacob

Resolve to be tender with the young, compassionate with the aged, sympathetic with the striving, and tolerant with the weak and the wrong. Sometime in your life you will have been all of these.

Since Ive had pd, I have a serious problem with betrayal, and people who havent got any tolerance for my condition..There are people Ive known for years who have weirded out on me from time to time..Huh, and I thought I had problems!

Happy Birthday Mary!

Happy Birthday a little early Must be turning 29 years young!

I read more than post and have always found your postings to be helpful and sincere to the PD forum. They're always filled with a positive attitude to help live with PD. You're going to overcome your new hurtle in life with that positive energy we see on the forum, and if you feel it running a little low maybe we can return some to help keep that smile going.
Take Care,
Scott

Default You're not alone here...

Maryfrances,

I hope you are able to get along - singularly - and find the strength to be happy. I have been struggling to maintain my marriage since a feeling of apathy - about life in general, not my spouse - set in a couple of years back, and I am fearful that I will end up separated too (It seems that too many here have gone through this). I deal with continual stress trying to keep the relationship going, and I wonder what’s worse, the stress or the loneliness I face if I quit. It seems that others who have gone through divorce eventually come to happiness and peace, but it is scary when you’re just facing it. You have an important career - teaching, as I remember - and I'm willing to bet that the kids really need you... that's what "does it" for me; consequently, it's what I'm struggling with most: feeling valued. It is something that is earned, somewhat, and I’m sure that’s getting harder for you to do, as I know it is for me. Keep yourself going and giving, and whatever you do, do not lose your sense of self-worth.

Happy Birthday, do something fun....

Grant

MaryFrancis,

From someone who faced what you are facing 7 years ago, I can tell you it gets a whole lot better. I am happier now than I have ever been, PD and all. Chin up and Happy Birthday.
