This film was made in 2000 -and I would like to give this film, as a Tribute
to those brave friends with PD who told their stories in front of the camera to help those brilliant scientist and doctor's - bits of insight - Congressman Lane Evans gave Dr. Greg Gerhardt and I an invitation to meet Present Bill Clinton at the White House - and it was there we presented him with this very documentary... In memory of Shauna my friend and Rebbeca's daughter, who passed away August -of 2007. link to view - http://pwnkle.com/champion.htm In Search of a Champion ... the Young onset Parkinson's Project Produced by MissTena Parisoff and Rebecca Bode We want to shine light on a disease that until now has been thought to only affect senior citizens. This film shows what actually happens when people in their 20's, 30's and 40's are struck down in the prime of their lives. These years are usually associated with busy new life, beginnings, graduations, careers, weddings, building families and enjoying life. Our film introduces you to a cross section of men and women who are doing their best to live well despite this neurodegenerative disease. You'll also hear from caregivers, doctors and support groups who are trying to improve the quality of life for the Parkinson's patient. Our hopes are that after viewing our documentary you will have a greater understanding of young onset Parkinson's disease. We encourage you to join our efforts to find the cure. We are In Search of a Champion to defeat this illness in our generation

I would like to Thank you for updating the documentary online, and keeping it online - your site looks marvelous! very cool... Carol's site is a "must see". go look around! www.pwnkle.com Our production of "In Search of A Champion" -won many awards - the Communicators Crystal Award for Excellence in Video/ Film Production. The Bronze Telly Award, 1st place Educational Award from the Broadcast Education Association as well as many other National Awards, we are very happy the We made this film in 2000 - it was distributed by VHS once, and through that we found people asking for the tape in every state of the USA, many Provinces of Canada, Europe, Africa and Asia, Austrailia, Sweden and the UK... Thankfully Carol offered her talents and service to put it on the Net - for the World to view for free!

Thanks for making this available. I am relatively new to this forum and to PD. Several other PD forums including this one have suggested joint advocacy in promoting awareness, research, grants, donations etc. Do you think it could be offfered to PBS stations and/or one of several cable/satellte statios for rebroadcast?
