In the daily grind of processing all the options we might take, to at least improve our lot in life,I don't tnink anyone has mentioned Brewers Yeast.
I take it when I am on, and have the inclination to suck back more pills I do find it helps. It's a byproduct of making Beer. Personally - most days I'd rather have the beer but that's for another post.. If anyone has any feed back on this I'd like to hear about it; cheers J

is great for getting rid of fleas! Seriously, we give it to our dogs in spring and summer and in addition to making their blood unpalatable to fleas, their coats gleam! Hope you don't need it for that, though...

Thanks for your comments.. Tena, I first took Brewers Yeast about 25 years ago and though I would gag to death. I had this recipe for "Tigers Milk". I began to get used to it, then I started to love it. I have more energy when I take it, and it seems to diminush the side effects of my sinemet. More evidence that we are all different. I don't get fleas and my hair is shiny....now I know why

Brewers yeast has alot of B vitamins in it and brewers yeast is a protein - so when this happens - I break in half ...a faster acting levadopa SR... if we do not have Bcomplex the meds will not work either, this is medically true the way to tell if you are extreemly deficient in B vitamins - look at your nails -I never wear polish, except on my toes? if you have no moons at the base of your finger nail bed -you need to take B-12 source: the big Orange edition of -Prescription for Nutritional healing -4th edition page -589 disorders that show up in the nails - that is why when you go have surgery in the hospital they remove nail polish -if your nails are blue - you do not have enough oxygen - side note -we can live 2 weeks without foods - a couple of days without water but no oxygen - immediately = no life! PS - I drink rice milk -no soy!!!

Tena, interesting comment about nails. I noticed just before I got diagnosed that a couple of my finger nails were spooned. Over the past 11 years this spooning shows up for a little while and then goes away. I have read and been told that it is due to an iron deficiency. I had my blood tested for iron and all was OK. Otherwise my fingernails have all the other signs of health. This is part of the puzzle that I can't seem to find an answer to. Is there a nail specialist? No wonder I have no money. My Day-Minder is hilarious, hardly any social engagements, tons of medical appointments.
My toenails do turn blue when my legs get rigid and when I walk any distance. To me this indicates a circulation problem. I noticed Dopavite has 20mg of iron in each tablet. If I don't have an iron deficiency should I be taking iron? What a balancing act. Another thought to throw in the mix. I had a bladder operation that turned out well except I got some sort of infection while I was in the hospital (from the catheter I imagine) and my stomach swelled up like a bowling ball . Consequently, from more hospital fowl ups, I had three surgeries which means three anesthetics in a one month period of time. Yup just before the pd diagnosis. No wonder I hear "you have a complicated problem" It is too much information. Maybe we should all drink some good old Canadian beer and chill.
