Default In general...

The Bs seem pretty safe. They are water soluble and your body flushes excess away. There are some supposed conflicts with sinemet that supposedly lessens its effectiveness, but I have some doubts about that. The real question is how much does a PWP need? It might be ten times the label dosage. We don't know. Usually they are taken as a single pill that has all of them in it and is called a version of "B Complex"

Currently (2011) taking 200/50 Sinemet CR 8 times a day + 10/100 Sinemet 3 times a day. Functional 90% of waking day but fragile. Failure at exercise but still trying. Constantly experimenting. Beta blocker and ACE inhibitor at present. Currently (01/2013) taking ldopa/carbadopa 200/50 CR six times a day + 10/100 form 3 times daily. Functional 90% of day. Update 04/2013: L/C 200/50 8x; Beta Blocker; ACE Inhib; Ginger; Turmeric; Creatine; Magnesium; Potassium. Doing well.

I'm currently taking 100 mg of B2 and 500 mg of B12 along with 2000 UI Vitamin D. I am feeling remarkably better, especially in the morning when I wake up. Almost had to crawl to my meds before. Now, even though I am off, I can almost start doing things while I wait for the meds to kick in. I'm thinking of adding B1 and E.

How many mg of each in the B complex that you're taking. I'm wondering if taking them individually wouldn't be more effective?

Default Did you see it?

You guys certainly have earned the right to be cynical, but I still think that there are researchers out there that have the good of humanity in mind. Now, maybe the discoverer will be silenced temporarily, but the possibilty of discovery remains, and people will find out. By the way, I know an engineer who developed a compressor with no moving parts (it uses sound waves) and his work has been closeted by greed; so I'm not naive... but I do know that some people do research because of a thirst for knowledge, and not just for personal financial gain.

HOWEVER, forget all that... I'm more excited about the ginseng reference that nobody is commenting on. In answer to Greg's question about apoptosis, this research shows that ginseng could be neuroprotective and regenerative. Some already know about it from experience... but it's good to see some confirmation from the "mainstream". And what's the 180% increase in dopaminergic cells from? Ginseng?
