the quote was made from the outside of the bars of a prison -
I am not so brave as to test that hypothesis...
have you been arrested w/ PD?

perhaps this better applies -
proverbs -
"Pride goeth before destruction, and a haughty spirit before a fall."
written by King Soloman -Solomon (reigned ca. 965-ca. 925 B.C.) was a king of the ancient Hebrews. He rebuilt the city of Jerusalem and erected the first Hebrew temple there. His wisdom is proverbial.

Default perhaps i am naive

I refuse to be afraid. I was once convinced that America was the Devil. Over the years I have grown much wiser and find that I am a patriot. Me! Of all people!

We are redefining ourselves....the baby boomers were....'unique' to say the least. Now it's time to see what havoc we have wrought, and try to fix some of it and change other parts.

We are still using our imaginations; I'm concerned that technology will become meshed with imagination. Perhaps replace?

I recall Fiona describing an African culture that believes in group healing and the importance of ridding the body mentally of bad things. This is not unlike how we have believed in our country under another name. Has our faith been replaced? redefined? made more politically correct?

Somewhere are the words of extreme caution about " when man is full of himself"......whether they are from religion or not...we know when man is full of himself we're in deep trouble.

I'm not worried about getting arrested here. But thanks for the notice Tena.

CTL,

I have heard of this in the past. I wouldn't doubt it though given whose in charge right now. During my travels, I made a joke out of needing a passport and travel papers to cross from Colorado to Wyoming. We better watch it because this is probably coming next. Flying is almost like this now. Next they'll institute these laws for road travel. There will be crossing gates at every stateline and there will be guards there to check travel documents just like they did in Russia.

Exclamation dear john - yes-

Dear John,
are you apeaking of "The Real ID ACT"

"Countdown to real ID ACT"

http://www.ncsl.org/RealID/ please look at this page they have a countdown timer on it?

On and after May 11, 2008, state driver's licenses and identification cards will not be accepted for federal purposes unless the U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS) determines that a state is compliant with the Real ID or a state has been approved for an extension by the Secretary of DHS. All 56 U.S. jurisdictions have received an initial extension from the Secretary of the DHS. The initial extension is valid until Dec. 31, 2009.

DHS estimates the costs for states to implement the Real ID will not exceed $3.9 billion.

To date, Congress has appropriated only $90 million to assist states with implementation of the Real ID. The President's FY 2009 budget proposal included $50 million for federal verification system development and connectivity support, while the $50 million state-focused Real ID grant program created in FY 2008 is zeroed out in favor of a new $110 million National Security and Terrorism Prevention Grant program.

Youtube -video - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ele7-DQnZ1A

PA Representatives John Hornaman(D), Florindo Fabrizio(D), Curtis Sonney(R), Patrick Harkins(D), Brad Raoe(R), and Michelle Brooks(R) speak their minds on REAL ID.

This took place at the fourth and final IGA Committee Hearing on REAL ID in Erie, PA on May 22, 2008.

All six representatives are now co-sponsoring H.B. 1351, which will kill REAL ID in Pennsylvania. The bill now has over 90 co-sponsors, but IGA Committee Chairman W. Curtis Thomas will not allow it to come out of committee to the floor for a vote. Instead, he is trying to "pull a fast one" by introducing a watered down version of the bill which does NOT stop biometric data from being included in drivers licenses.

Since 2006, PennDOT has been taking high resolution photographs for new and renewed drivers licenses, converting them into digital biometric images that can identify individuals just as uniquely as their fingerprints, and storing that in a potentially vulnerable database along with other personal information.

Please help us stop this unconstitutional violation of our rights by calling or meeting with your PA State Rep. ASAP and urging them to support HB 1351.

For more information, please contact Jim Compton and/or visit the following sites:

I live outside Philadelphia and I am glad this man was arrested!
We recently lost 2 police officers to the senseless violence in our city.
Police officers should be respected, not threatened on YouTube. People should not be able to post any garbage they want on YouTube.

Default In the UK this would fall under the crime of ...

a "hate crime". This is defined by the government as:

Hatred is a strong term that goes beyond simply causing offence or hostility. Hate crime is any criminal offence committed against a person or property that is motivated by an offender's hatred of someone because of their:

* race, colour, ethnic origin, nationality or national origins
* religion
* gender or gender identity
* sexual orientation
* disability

Hate crime can take many forms including:

* physical attacks – such as physical assault, damage to property, offensive graffiti, neighbour disputes and arson
* threat of attack – including offensive letters, abusive or obscene telephone calls, groups hanging around to intimidate and unfounded, malicious complaints
* verbal abuse or insults - offensive leaflets and posters, abusive gestures, dumping of rubbish outside homes or through letterboxes, and bullying at school or in the workplace

Our definition of a hate crime:

* Any incident, which constitutes a criminal offence, which is perceived by the victim or any other person as being motivated by prejudice or hate.

Anyone "waving a gun and claiming to rejoice whenever a police officer is shot" would fall under this banner and frankly deserves all they get.

The internet is just another communications media and should not be exempt from the law.

Neil.
