Lightbulb BENZODIAZEPINE Withdrawal Syndrome

Benzodiazepines affect just about every part of the body. Contrary to popular belief there are GABA/BZ receptors throughout the body including the gastrointestinal tract and most if not all other organs in the body system. For this reason there is a wide variety of symptoms. However the good news is that you will NOT suffer all of these symptoms and hopefully you will not suffer any of them severely or long lasting.

Michael's Benzo Story
A personal battle and victory in overcoming a benzodiazepine addiction
http://www.bcnc.org.uk/benzo.html

I am going through hell - caused by a Dr. of Psychology who put me on klonipin for the last 7 yrs...
there is a number of these drugs classified as benzodiazepines... I have been to the ER 10 times in the last 2 months!
I never asked for a benzo
I never wrote out the RX for the benzodiazepine...
but I am having these electrical shocks all over my body - rashes etc...
I must contact an attorney... then see what to do before it kills me...
very very sad - I trusted her...she let me go -
and refused to prescribe again! - ie: fear of being sued!

Arrow A List of Benzodiazepines.

A List of Benzodiazepines.

Benzodiazpeine tranquillisers, sleeping pills and muscle relaxants go by many different names. Each benzodiazepine drug will usually have a chemical or generic name (e.g. Alprazolam) as well as at least one but often several product or brand names (eg. Alprazolam is marketed as Xanax, Karma etc.). Product names vary according to the manufacturer and the country you live in.

Below are two lists of benzodiazepine drugs.

The second list given below is largely borrowed from Wikipedia, the on-line community encyclopaedia. Although there can sometimes be problems of accuracy with Wikipedia I have decided to include their list because they have attempted to do a particularly comprehensive survey. If you are taking a drug on the Wikipedia listing which is not included in the first list below as well you may wish to double check the info with a pharmacist or doctor to confirm that the pills you are taking are benzoes, and that the generic and product names on the Wikipedia list are correctly matched).

Benzoes go by so many names in different parts of the world so if you are taking a tranquilliser or sleeping pill that doesn’t appear on either of these lists it might still be a benzo – check with an appropriate health professional.
