Question Apokyn vial life

We're thinking about starting on the Apokyn pen, but heard that the vials should be discarded after a week. We were hoping to milk them for a little longer than that. Prescribing info doesn't say anything about discarding after a week, but we called manufacturers line and they "recommend" discarding vial a week after placing in pen.

Does anyone have any experience or insight that might be useful here?

Thanks.
