"Parkinson's Genetic Mechanism Identified......
An international team of scientists have found that genetic mechanisms in blood cells play a crucial role in controlling a gene and protein that causes Parkinson's disease. Patients with Parkinson"s disease (PD) have elevated levels of the protein called alpha-synuclein in their brains. As the protein clumps, or aggregates, the resulting toxicity causes the death of neurons that produce the brain chemical dopamine...." did you just know the references or did you have to look them up
This alpha-synuclein protein clumping seems to have been around for ever but I am not sure it is going anywhere fast. More comebacks than Brett Favre !! Neil. |

The finding included large amounts of alpha synuclein in our blood and genes that kind of turn alpha synuclein on and off [very layman's term] - this sounded pretty important and the article was posted by 4 different people on the forum and many other places. This was all just last week so it was easy to remember where the threads were.
