Shortly after I was dxed in January, there were a number of posts regarding the invention of a helmet that can irradiate the brain with infrared light to stimulate neuron growth, thus reversing the effects of Alzheimer’s and PD. I was intrigued and explored the possibility of building a similar device myself, but I decided my budget wouldn't allow it. Based on an article I discovered recently and its associated responses, that may have been a good thing. It seems that claims for the helmet are based on inadequate research and that rather than healing, the infrared radiation it provides may actually have the potential to rapidly cause irreversible brain damage. If you're planning on building or using such a device, be sure you have enough information to make an informed decision
