H. pylori?
Is it possible that the effects were the result of eliminating or diminishing an infestation of Helicobacter? If I remember correctly, it is not particularly sensitive to penicillin.

probably not HP
As you say, HP is extremely resistant to antibiotic treatment. So much so, in fact, that they often throw four or even five at it at once - even then the cure rate is about 75%. There are also problems with the toxin load that would be present and the quick return of the symptoms after stopping the drug.

some people use bismuth
(Pepto Bismol)... preparations to improve H. pylori results. There is increasing resistance to antibiotics developing with this organism.

I must repeat the warning
Anyone with PD needs to approach H. pylori eradication very, very carefully. It is potentially the worst mistake you could make due to the poisons released by the dying bacteria. Your doc almost certainly will be unaware of this. I am not known to be trepeditious on things like this, but this one frankly scares me. So, heed me fellow Rats.

I started taking doxy about a week ago. Based on the mouse model I read about, I am taking a very low dose. So far, no observable change. On another tack, I took Mino for 3 years for scleroderma which has been gone from my life for 15 or 20 years. Yes, the doxy seems to help with inflamation. I just submitted a thread to this forum regarding a recent improvement in my walking. Eager to see if anyone has had my experience with the walking and arm swing.
