i have my own web site.

i would suggest that laura dean contact her web server. she may have to set new passwords through her server. i would also suggest that she change those passwords often. her server will have her original contact information to verify who she is.

i hope this helps.

this is what I had her do. Evidently a webmaster who had offered his help, turned out to be a "less than honest" person. She contacted her ISP and the problem is supposedly handled.

Default Which one

Was it parkiejam.org or parkiejam.net?

If the problem isn't resolved, I would be happy to help. I have been a professional nerd now for 12 years running.

neither,, its dot com, and no the issue is still not resolved. if YOU GUYS type parkiejam.com in your address bar it flies the flag of parkinson profiles, if I type it in, I get "site not found".

I will not name names, but there is more than speculation about this site being stolen. One of the main people in there used to work closely with me when it was parkiejam. the webspinner refused to allow me administration priveldges and after i voiced rather loudly my opinion on this matter, found myself unable to enter my own domain. i asked this person to help me aand she said that she also had been banned from site after her attempt at communication with the webspinner. i tried to close down site now out of my hands and through a suggestion of a close friend allowed a person who DID have access to send out messages to all members that their membership was being deleted due to circumstances beyond my control. when the memberships were all deleted, i assumed that would close it. i was wrong. suddenly it became parkinson profile with an introduction slamming the "previous" owner in words that i had abandoned the site. and the gracious webspinner had made things so wonderful for the new site. i was allowed access to this "site" .. still under parkiejam.com... as a member.. yet, every thing i typed in to question was deleted. the person who told me she had been booted, is now there.. top of the helm trying very hard to establish such a nice environment. i have gone into my yahoo business accoount where the domain was established and found parkiejam.com had been somehow "deactivated" yet it still was in the registry. I never cancelled my domain hame holding, just the domain hosting in the hopes this would shut it down.. it didnt. so, today, i reactivated the domain and had everything to do with parkiejam.com rerouted to parkiejam.net.. it still isnt working..

harley,

find out from your hosting company what their wait time is. some can be 24 hours up to 78 for a change to take place.

i had a hassle with mine and ended up paying for 2 years of service with one company and never switching becuase of the down time.

you might want to post on the computer forum or send a pm to southernlady, she is awesome at helping.

I cannot speak for the domain name problem on the parkiejam.com forwarding but I can speak for some of the other issues regarding what has all happened regarding the old site.

The old site hosting was provided by Chat Essentials who make the glassroom chat software. This was provided as I understand it at no cost for the setup of a Parkinson's related site which Harley was in charge of. Through a conflict of personalities over the control of the website the hosting company basically stopped working with harley on the administration and maintainence of the site. Thus it went down.

Now, a person named Daniel decided the website did deserve to be available to the Parkingson's community but Chat essentials wanted someone else to run it. So they renamed it Parkinson Profile, set the Parkiejam domain name to forward to it and reopened the site. The site was open under Parkinson Profile for a few months with absolutely no activity. Chat essentials was about to totally shut down the site when they got in touch with a friend of mine to take over the running of it or see it go down for good. my friend accepted it so the site would stay available and was working as best she could to make it a alternative resource for the Parkinson's community.

At no time did anyone actively try to steal anything from Harley except maybe the poor judgement of the hosting company in using the forwarding of the domain name to point to the new site.
