Default Weekly Check In Dec 28, 2008 - Jan 3 , 2009

Hi Everyone..We made it to Rhode Island last Monday, and by the time we got to the R.I. border I was trashed, all parkied up..but we stopped in Bridgeport Ct, and Stonington Ct on the way through..Stonington is an old historical town, with a fishing villiage..Very quaint, very nice..During the week we drove to Newport down the beaches, and by Bellevue Ave and Ocean Drive to see the Mansions, and the scenic ocean waterfront..Brought Laura to a cool beach where she can do her rock and shell collecting..Strange, how when you live in a place for so many years, I tend to take its beauty for granted, because you see it so often

As for me, I need to get my boat back in the water, and back to work..My legs are turning to jello again..Every winter I go through this, and by the springtime I am shuffling on down the line..I am convinced that exercise works as well as the meds, and everytime Ive had meds and exercise working together I have felt good

Other than that, Ive been catching up on the things that I couldnt do while I was away, paying bills that piled up, getting re-settled in, etc

How was your week?

Smile

I have been very busy with a houseful of people. My son and his wife were here from Maryland 4 nights and just left yesterday. My daughter is still here from Florida with my 2 grandchildren- ages 3 and 3 mos. My other daughter who lives locally comes over to spend time with her brother & sister and niece & nephew.

On Saturday we drove up to the Poconos so we could take my granddaughter sledding. We found a nice little hill in a state park and she had a great time. She was going up and down the hill herself with the saucer.

Wednesday morning I am playing guitar at a nursing home with some of my students.

My father, who lives in Arizona, is presently at my brother's in Buffalo. He is coming here on Friday and will stay till Monday. My daughter goes back to Florida Friday evening. My brother will try to get here Friday afternoon with my father so he can see his great grand children before they leave.

The holidays are a wonderful time, but very tiring.

Happy New Year!

Default Having all four children visit at one time is exciting.

However, it is also very tiring! Our oldest son and his five year old daughter left yesterday to return to Illinois. The others, our pediatrician daughter and her husband, and our youngest son, new wife, infant son and 15 year old son left for Tennessee and Washington Saturday and Sunday.
Our oldest daughter, a resident at a wonderful facility in this city for mentally challenged children and adults, is still at home. Sara goes to church with us each weekend, and she has been here since a couple of days before Christmas. She celebrates her fifty-eighth birthday on New Year's day, and will return to her usual residence after festivities tomorrow.

We love them all dearly, but often think that having them one family at a time instead of all at one time would allow for better visiting. Some blessings are just more tiring than others!

Happy New Year to all!

Robert

Default lara and steve

re relationship - life is more dramatic than I ever pictured - would you agree? lol; you deserve a badge of courage. There is always something to identify with as you write.

thank you,

Default Happy New Year!

I haven't been spending much time on the computer lately, but I just wanted to wish you all a Happy New Year. I think I told you all that I will be having surgery some time soon to have my ovaries out. My partial hysterectomy of two years ago is now turning into a full hysterectomy due to endometriosis. The whole thing has been a real bummer for me. Life was on track there for a short moment...then everything just went kind of haywire! You are right Steve, Life is like a box of chocolates...you never know what you're gonna get! I must add though...you can't really go wrong when it comes to chocolate! Oh well..looks like another roller coaster ahead...a bit of a hormonal one. I'm gonna hold on tight and yell, "WEEEE" all the way! I will post more regarding the surgery once I have a date.

HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!
