Default Auction for PD Research

Hi All,
Well, the auction I organised at Kent University in aid of ground breaking research at King's College London, raised £15,666 ( $28,200).
This is enough to keep the research going for nearly 6 months.
I feel as though I am retired again!!! I sent out 750 e-mails and 200 letters, and shudder to think what my phone bill will be!!
So I am back posting again!!
Best wishes
Ron

Default Well Done!!!

You deserve a lot of appreciation and thanks from the rest of us on the planet with PD for your effort. 6 months worth of research funding is great!

I have a friend who does a fundraiser called Porridge for Parkinson's to raise funds for the Pacific Parkinson's Reseach Group. She started Five years ago by having a porridge breakfast in her home and inviting everyone and anyone she could. I think she raised about $15.000. or so the first year. Then she added an auction and last year she raised $60,000!!!!! I think she is incredible and she's at it again this year. The event is next Sunday morning and I'm headed over to see what she's got on the auction block and have a bowl of porridge. I donated a piece of artwork which I'm hoping will bring in a few dollars to her cause. I think there will be a special place in heaven for you "movers and shakers"

Default Congratulations!

This is incredible, Ron! You worked your buns off and should now sit back and take a much deserved rest.

And man - only 6 months? Research is an expensive effort, isn't it?

Peg
