Default It's Been a Year Since my DX

Hi Everyone,

I haven't posted in quite a while. This forum was invaluable to me when I was going through the time before my diagnosis. There are so many nice folks here.

So, now it's been a year. I went through a lot of difficulty leading up to the diagnosis of PDD. Then I went through a lot of emotions following the diagnosis.

Now, after a year to sort it all out, I think I'm in a pretty good space, emotionally and psychologically speaking. Getting the right medications has helped a lot. Family and friends are still coming to terms with it. For me, though, I think doing as well as I have in quite a few years.

I don't like having PDD, but then, I've lived long enough to know that a lot of other far worse maladies could have struck. So I'm more fortunate than some and less fortunate than others. I think that's what we call life.

Anyway, since this time of year is often a time of reflection and this is an anniversary for me, I thought I'd take a moment to thank those on this forum who helped me when I needed it. Many of you will never know how helpful your words have been. To those who have joined since I stopped being a regular contributor, I wish you the best and encourage you to continue to work and hope for better times to come.

My best regards to you all.

Karl

it is certainly a new kind of life which start with pd diag. I then started counting years, months and daya after the event challenging destiny to remain reasonably well as long as I can!

I agree with you Karl, I am a year in and I am in a much better place than I was 12 months ago and probably for many years. A positive state of mind is the best weapon in this battle!
