Default on - off question

Those who have on-off problems- Is there any chance that when it happens for no apparent reason (i.e. you are medicated) that it is connected to your having eaten anything made with grain beforehand?

Bear with me a minute. For several years I have blamed MSG for similar episodes, but New Year's Eve I began to doubt. I was enjoying some dip that was supposedly MSG free when the hostess hurriedly came over with an ingredient label that made it plain that quite the contrary and I feared the worst. But nothing happened and deliberate challenge has increased my confusion.

However, I still have gone off after eating a few times since and it seems that breads and grain products in general are the villain and MSG was just running with the wrong crowd.

It isn't a gluten thing though. I can eat bread. But the bread that was OK yesterday may do me ill today. Even from the same loaf. ESPECIALLY if the bread has been around awhile and is growing stale.

What I am beginning to suspect are mycotoxins - poisons put out by molds that grow on grains and about which little is known other than that there are hundreds of different kinds and some are among the most deadly stuff known. They are common problems with grain and hay. Remember that farming increases risk of PD.

Those of you with rural backgrounds may have heard of the "staggers" where a horse loses the control of its rear legs. That comes from a similar poisoning.

Think about it and see if you see any patterns.

Do you know what all was in the dip Rick?

Maybe it slowed down or stopped you from absorbing the MSG?

I've gone far beyond the dip and have even eaten cheap egg rolls since. Just call me reckless.
