Default Suspend Azilect for surgery?

Has anyone stopped taking Azilect for two weeks in order to prepare for anesthesia necessary for surgery? If so, did you notice any positive or negative effects from doing this? Were you able to resume the medicine again after the surgery without noticing a difference from where you had been before. I don't like to monkey with something that is working, but I have to have a colonoscopy. Any thoughts?

Default many inquiring minds want to know

Sheryl,

I've not had to consider this yet but will since I have started taking Azilect. If no one answers who has done it, my thoughts are that you should specifically dig hard and ask for everyone's opinions....doctors, reps from the pharma maker, anyone in the know....to see if there is someone who knows this for sure....lol..or compare responses. Colonoscopy requires only very light anesthesia...there might be a threshhold below which we are safe.

Let us know what you find out. It's very important and going off selegiline isn't a walk in the park if it's working well.

Default stopping azilect

I stopped taking azilect last year after being on it for 6 weeks because I started getting small, yet annoying, headaches. I felt no difference after the cessation other than the headaches went away.

Default Azilect/surgery

My husband has had 3 surgeries requiring anesthesia and all 3 times he was told by the staff that it was not necessary to stop taking azilect. He has had no problems with the anesthetic, and he noticed no changes concerning the azilect.
