Go Rick! How do you think I get my house cleaned and my exercise? That's what IPODS are for! Music is a turn on...lol.

....that fount of wisdom, said something along the lines of- "Nobody really cares if you can't dance, so dance!"
I suspect that ths is the single greatest exercise program we could adopt. It does aerobic, stretching, balance, and strengthening all at once. It uses the music to overcome the PD. It probably encourages new neural growth. It is free and can be done in the privacy of your home (at least if you don't put it on youtube ). And you feel so damn cool so long as you don't watch the video

instead of text on the screen. i tried to do one of my own but used up my remaining two gigs before i hit the right song, and now can't seem to copy any files to disc so that i can delete them and free up room and yada yada yada. it really made me happy to see you dance - i loved to dance, and every now and then i can get about 3/4 of the way back to where i used to be - and that is a gift.

Good on you. As a traditional english dancer I know that certain kinds of music and certain bands give you more lift and spring in your step.It was wonderful as last night with a good band my husband and I were able to polka around the dance hall.I am hoping that this may continue for many more years. At least I can live in hope.

I have tried several times to free up some movement with dance, but so far I have not been able to. Fast music just seems to stimulate my tremor. Could it be that I already had a faulty sense of rhythm before Pd, or could it be that I never learned to dance? I would really like to hear an explanation for that. I do know that even when I cannot walk, I can still run. Hmmmmm...very interesting.
Thanks for sharing that with us. michael |
