Relax, Sweetie

Hi Proudest Mom,

I too, experienced the out of breath. I would guess it is a combination of stress, dystonia off the diaphram and Parkinsonoism symptyms. Eventually it will no longer be a problem when your PD decides to strike a different part of your system. If it becomes severe enough don't hesitate to dial 911. A option you might try, and it may sound odd, is Benedryl. My son, the paramedic said it is the first choice for ER physicians when PD patients come through the door. Worked for me sometimes.

Blessings,
Vicky:hug:

two cents

Posture is extremely important. No, you don't have to give in to the urge to hunch forward. I had the "good" fortune to undergo a hip replacement a couple of years ago, which made me stand up straight or suffer severe pain. If the tests come out "normal" you might try yoga. It's doing wonders for me. I've just been reminding myself how precious and how short life is--a great motivator for me.

Note: I am referring to my own experience and I am aware that more severe PD than mine makes its own demands. God help us all.

rule out the simple

Several times I have experienced chest pain only to have it clear up quickly once I started potassium supplementation. Ask your doc if you bloodwork has covered that.
