I am so glad to see this subject being addressed here. I always feel like such a baby if I complain about the heat.
It was 85 in NYC for the Unity Walk this year; I stayed in the shade and tried not to move too much; only a few of our group even attempted the walk; some didn't complete. I think I am much more sensitive than others - still it is nice to have a general PD connection confirmed (my doc says we lose the ability to sweat out of our hands and feet, so it is all directed to the head and trunk - I have tested this and it appears to be true for me). I agree with John - I don't drink enough water because of the bladder control problem. And I get a lot of social pressure to "get out and enjoy the sun!" living in the Northwest. I don't have air conditioning (not common here; ubiquitous though in cars), so I dread the coming summer and hope it doesn't get too hot!

Heat is one of my greatest enemies.....I have profuse facial and scalp sweating. It is so embarassing!
My neurosurgeon suggested a surgery to sever the sympathetic nerve that triggers the sweating. They go in with a scope via the armpits and sever the nerve at the thoracic spine. I just don't know if the insurance company would deny the request as cosmetic and not medically necessary.... Ah, the joys of YOPD!
