Default DBS plus 2 years! Happy Anniversary to ME!

Had the third and final phase of my DBS surgery done two years ago tomorrow. Anyone wanting to see pictures and read details can check out my blog post on the subject -- http://deepbraindiary.com/2009/07/02...3-july-3-2007/

All things considered, with my gait and balance going downhill, but no tremor, no rigidity, only a bit of bradykinesia and half the meds from before... I'm glad I had it done!

I had mine done in 2002, 12 years after my DX. HAving done without it for a week when my left IPG died, One week short of 5 years.

DBS gave me my life back.
I am akinetic on my right side without it. I would be in a rest home without it, or at the very least bed-ridden and wheelchair bound.

Default Welcome!

Welcome to our forum, Deep Brain Diarist (may I call you Deep?). You certainly are in a position to share your experiences, and I hope you visit here often.

Default thanks

Thank you for sharing your encouraging news. It helps those of us still in the earlier stages to know that there's more options out there.
