Default Nitrates and PD

If I read this right, this lady is saying nitrates cause PD and Alzheimer'...here's the link:

http://www.sciencedaily.com/releases...0705215239.htm

It seems like they could do a study pretty quickly to test this theory-give one group of rats nitrates and the other group no nitrates, eh?

Wouldn't it be great if we could learn ways to actually cause PD or AD in living rats and not have to rely on a drug model that may or may not approximate reality!

Has anyone seen this? a significant book called “Explaining Unexplained Illnesses” by Martin L. Pall, Professor of Biochemistry and Basic Medical Sciences Washington State University.

One can see a summarised version of his theory of Nitric oxide and Peroxynitrites causing oxidative damage to mitochondria and precipitating degenerative illnesses including CFS and PD. His protocol of treatment includes a fearsome array of new and old antioxidants.
