The previous post which was edited contained comments about carnitine and carnosine. So I looked them up and provided links to
information about them. I am going to leave this portion of the thread, because the information is important to those here who use either one. Please read this monograph on absorption of carnitine: http://lpi.oregonstate.edu/infocente...uts/carnitine/ This is a shortened version of carnosine actions: http://www.1stvitality.co.uk/az/carn...armacology.htm It is important to find accurate information when using the net. You will find carnosine information connected to the Autism community since some early studies have used it for that purpose to increase brain functioning. I found ONE paper about zinc carnosine trial in mice. The zinc form was more useful: http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/1...ubmed_RVDocSum Not finding human trials of this for neuropathy yet. Zinc was probably more useful with the carnosine trial. This is because SOD has zinc in it. It might even be the zinc that is responsible for the actions. Carnosine remains rather expensive today. And large doses would be needed to duplicate the dosing in humans that was used in the mouse trial.
